The moment we arrived at the Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, I was mesmerised at the sheer scale and magnificence of this unique property. We had been resort-hopping in Mauritius for the past few days in order to collect as much content for our readers as possible. Obviously, we were tired, having to constantly move from place to another. So our delight was doubled when we set eyes on this upmarket resort located in the south-western tip of Mauritius.
Situated on Le Morne peninsula, the resort is set against the backdrop of the iconic Le Morne mountain, adjacent to Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, a neighbouring Beachcomber hotel of the same category (both resorts share their facilities to create an forgettable experience for their guests). To add to the attractions, the resort oversees one of the most scenic shorelines in Mauritius.
After having experienced the luxury and serenity at the Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa first hand, I can confidently advise that if you are planning a luxury family holiday or a romantic getaway in Mauritius, this is just the perfect place for you.
Rooms & Villas
The resort offers a range of room categories to cater for different types of visitors – single travellers, couples and families. Those travelling with young children may choose to have them sharing their room while teenagers might want to have their own room. Of course, the villas are the perfect option for any family, with all the resort’s five-star facilities within reach and maximum flexibility and service ensured throughout the stay with a private valet and chef on request.
What is outstanding about this property is that its a child-friendly luxury resort that understands the needs of families travelling to Mauritius: this means parents do not have to prepare food for their young, baby-sitters are on hand when needed and a full range of activities are available for children.
The facilities on hand are extensive and you can enjoy the spa, the many water sports and golf course in complete peace of mind while your children take part in fun activities organized by the kids club’s professional and caring staff. This factor itself will be very appealing for our Arab travellers in the Middle East, known to travel on holidays in large family groups.
Dining Options
During our stay at the hotel, we dined at all four restaurants that are housed within the resort. However, the one that stood out was certainly the La Ravanne restaurant located at the far end of the resort. You are transported to this unique restaurant in a small boat that takes you on a short ride along the shore (as you admire the star-studded night sky) before arriving at La Ravanne’s private jetty. You sit on rustic thatched kiosks set on individual decks laid out on the sand as dinner is served – authentic Creole cuisine at that! It can’t get any better than this.
If you are a food lover, you will certainly be spoilt for choice – during your stay here you can sample a wide array of sumptuous delicacies like Italian specialities, fresh fish and seafood harvested from local waters, traditional Creole recipes and many other culinary delights.
To top it all, complimentary access to sister hotel Dinarobin and its four restaurants take choice and flexibility to a whole new level. So, with eight restaurants spread across the two hotels, you may well experience the finest culinary choice in Mauritius.
Activities
The resort is also a true sporting paradise and offers an extensive choice of complimentary land and water sports plus the opportunity to play on three championship golf courses in the vicinity including its very own 18-hole international golf course. And if you’ve never played golf, like me, you can always spend an afternoon at the golf academy for some lessons.

The Not-So-Good Parts
To be honest, even for me, the nitpicking critic that I am, it is actually difficult to find anything to pick on during my stay at this luxurious resort. However, the only thing that you might want to consider is that the resort is so big and there’s so much to do, see and experience that you might want to book a longer stay at this property – a quick in and out would not suffice – in my humble opinion.
How to Get There
Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa offers an airport shuttle for guests. Or you can hire a taxi from the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport which would take roughly an hour-and-a-half to take you the resort.
